
Guanajuato, Gto., May 5, 2019.- Federico Daniel Gómez Padilla, student of the chemical engineering course of the Guanajuato Campus, obtained the bronze medal in the box competition, category of 69 kg in the National Universiade held at the Autonomous University of Yucatán (UADY).
This is the XXII National Universiade held from April 30 to May 17, in which athletes from all over the Republic will participate in disciplines such as aerobic gymnastics, weightlifting, amateur boxing, softball, volleyball room, judo, fencing, archery, rugby, chess, tennis, etcetera.
Universities across the country sent their representative teams in each of these disciplines, who will be facing their peers hoping to achieve some position in the medals.
Daniel demonstrated his character and talent, the product of previous discipline and work, after he achieved his ranking last month in front of his competitor in the state of Baja California in the city of Tijuana.
With the guidance of his coach, Jesús González Cruces, Daniel achieved this important result in which students from the universities of Nayarit and Queretaro obtained the first and second place, respectively.
It is noteworthy that the student Daniel de Jesus Anda Campos, student of sustainable Chemistry in the Division of Engineering of the Campus León, obtained sixth place in weightlifting.
The National Universiade represents an important factor for students to complement their comprehensive training through healthy competition in the sport.
Athletes feel infected by the passion they put in the various disciplines to reach their goals and put the name of their university to the top.
