
Guanajuato, Gto., May 29, 2019.- In order to promote the development of the State through innovation, education and the promotion of competitiveness, the Digital Agenda Guanajuato was presented, a State government initiative coordinated by the ecosystem of linkage, innovation, development and application of the knowledge of the University of Guanajuato (VIDA UG).
In delivering the document, the President of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, emphasized that this project is a clear example of how to link academia, industry and government, within the framework of the priorities of the state.
He added that the Digital Agenda is a roadmap that must be translated into the generation of policies and actions and clarified that it is the beginning of a series of works and policies for the benefit of society.
He also thanked the trust placed at the University of Guanajuato to take over the project and explained that students from other educational institutions participated.
The project is an initiative of the Government of the state of Guanajuato, through the Department of Innovation, Science and Higher Education, and was carried out by UG Innova Technopark within the framework of the ecosystem of linkage, innovation, development and application of the knowledge, in collaboration with the National Chamber of the electronic industry, telecommunications and Information Technology (CANIETI).
The project was attended by 10 students from different disciplines of the University of Guanajuato, as well as a student from the Technological University of León and another from the Universidad Iberoamericana de León, all supervised by Dr. Jesús Martínez Patiño, VIDA UG's Coordinator.
During the presentation of the Digital Agenda, the governor of the state, Lic. Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, referred to the objectives of the Digital Agenda, among which he emphasized the interest in raising the productivity and competitiveness of the State; Increase the effectiveness and transparency of the Government and provide elements to the educational sector regarding the needs of employers, so that they are taken into account when training their students.
The event was attended by the national Director of the CANIETI, Lic. Alfredo Pacheco Vásquez, who said that this Agenda will benefit the different sectors and that -clarified- is a vision of the state.
Also attended the Secretary of Innovation, science and higher Education of Guanajuato (SICES), Eng. Eusebio Vega Pérez, who celebrated the realization of this project, as well as authorities of different levels of government; Representatives of the business and education sector.
