Guanajuato, Gto., May 28, 2019.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) signed an agreement of academic collaboration with the University of Regina of Canada, in which both educational institutions have committed to carry out activities of student mobility that allow to optimize their relations.

On the part of the University of Guanajuato signed the agreement the Academic Secretary, Dr. Sergio Antonio Silva Muñoz, who stressed that one of the characteristics of the academic relations that UG has with institutions from other countries is its endurance and that This occasion, an alliance with the University of Regina is formed with the purpose to potentiate the strengths of each house of studies.

The Associate vice president and head of the International Office of the University of Regina, Lic. Livia E. Castellanos signed the agreement, thanked the University of Guanajuato for the union and said that it is the beginning of a very productive relationship in which it will promote an academic and cultural collaboration.

 It is noteworthy that the University of Regina is a public institution located in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, established in 1911. It has two Regina and Saskatoon campuses located in Wascana Center, one of the largest urban parks in North America.

It has 15,568 students enrolled in 120 undergraduate and 78 postgraduate programs. The Canadian university is organized into 10 faculties, 25 academic departments and schools, 18 research centers and institutes, and three federated universities. In 2017 the University of Regina was ranked among the 200 best universities "Young", at international level by Times Higher Education, for its excellent quality and innovation in its academic programs. It is currently ranked among the top 25 institutions nationwide.

The signing of the agreement was attended by the Director of International Relations and Academic Collaboration, Dr. Elías Rigoberto Ledesma; The Director of the Office of the University of Regina in Mexico, Lic. Montserrat Muñoz-David; and the head of the Department of Covenants at Regina University, M. Virgine Sophie Pautrat.
