Guanajuato, Gto., May 27, 2019.- Representatives of seven institutions participated in the signing of an amending agreement that will allow the Universidad Iberoamericana to offer the inter-institutional doctorate in human rights.
This program is offered by the Inter-Agency Network on Human Rights, which is composed of the University of Guanajuato (UG), the Autonomous University of Baja California Sur (UABCS), the Autonomous University of Campeche (UAC), the university Autonomous of Tlaxcala (UATx), Autonomous University of Tamaulipas (CTU), the Autonomous University of Chihuahua (UACH), the National Commission of Human Rights (CNDH), and now also by the Ibero-American University.
At the ceremony, the President of the University OF Guanajuato (UG), Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino argued that this is a strategic alliance "important, necessary and even essential" among institutions of higher education.
He stressed that interinstitutional collaboration is needed to make the academic contribution greater, and he pointed out that both the master's degree and the doctorate in human rights represent a solid hope for Mexico.
He also recalled that the project began in June 2016, with the creation of the inter-institutional master's degree in human rights, which was offered by the University of Guanajuato, Baja California Sur, Campeche, Tlaxcala and the National commission of the Human rights.
A year later the doctorate program was created, and other educational institutions have been incorporated, and even confident that the project will continue to grow and incorporate universities from other Latin American countries.
In his speech, the President of the Universidad Iberoamericana Mexico City, M. David Fernandez Dávalos, thanked the opportunity to form part of the Inter-Agency Network on Human Rights, and reiterated the commitment to work for the highest social causes.
The representative in Mexico of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (CNDH), Jan Jarab, participated in the event as a witness of honor.
The agreement was signed by the President of the UG, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, and his counterparts, Dr. Cindy Rossina Saravia López, of the UAC; Dr. Gustavo Rodolfo Cruz Chávez, of the UABCS; the M. Luis Alberto Fierro Ramírez, of the UACH, and the Dr. Luis Armando González Plascencia, from UATx.
Also, Eng. José Andrés Suárez Hernández, of CTU; M. David Fernandez Dávalos, from the Iberoamerican University, and the president of the CNDH, M. Luis Raúl González Pérez.
