-They celebrate 50 years of friendship with cultural and academic activities
Guanajuato, Gto., May 27, 2019.- Within the framework of the 50 years of friendship between the University of Guanajuato (UG) and the Southern Oregon University (SOU), representatives of both institutions will sign an agreement and carry out a series of academic and cultural activities aimed at strengthening the Collaborative links.
The above, during a visit to Guanajuato by a delegation from the University of Southern Oregon, which will be headed by the President of the SOU, Dr. Linda Schott.
The activities programme covers from 28 to 31 May, and includes the renewal of a memorandum of understanding, which will be signed by Dr. Linda Schott and the Rector General de la UG, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino.
A meeting will be held which will address different topics related to the academic potential of educational institutions, as well as the "United States-Mexico Relations" symposium, which is organized by ex-students who are part of the Association of Students of the Friendship program.
Also, during the visit of representatives of the University of the south of Oregon, a recognition will be made to the Professor Graciela Tapp Kocks, precursor of the twinning with the city of Guanajuato and who last April was distinguished with the appointment of "Distinguished Guanajuatense".
In addition, the exhibition "Friendship that lasts" will be inaugurated in the multipurpose room, a presentation of the folkloric Ballet of the University of Guanajuato (BAFUG) will be held and a concert of the ensemble of percussions; Cultural activities will close with the symphonic Orchestra of the University of Guanajuato at the Teatro Juárez.
Last April, representatives of the University of Guanajuato were in the SOU to participate in a series of events to commemorate the 50th anniversary of twinning between the cities of Ashland and Guanajuato and the relationship between both universities.
