Guanajuato, Gto., May 22, 2019.- Within the celebration of the 25th anniversary of autonomy of the University of Guanajuato (UG), Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, President of the Maximum House of Studies, revealed the publishing of the book "La autonomía universitaria ante la reforma educativa. Comentarios a la reforma constitucional de 2019 en materia de educación superior", text of his own authorship and reflecting on the immediate challenges higher education faces as a result of such reform.

In his participation, the President of the UG mentioned the subject he addresses in his book: "I say it in the text and now I repeat it, it is not to theorize, much less to illustrate, only to share and precisely in the framework of this ceremony."

In this book, Dr. Guerrero Agripino highlights the virtues of university autonomy and in chapter V of the second part mentions that "the exercise responsible for university autonomy in a genuine way brings with its other attributes: credibility, trust and legitimacy. That is why it is important to realize the relevance of the public university's work in and for the development of society. Its sense of adaptation with the maintenance of its essence, the capacity of self-criticism and the recognition that it will be forever an unfinished project, give to the university better conditions of progress (...) Thus, the public university is one of the most important inventions of humanity and the recognition of its autonomy, with all its challenges and risks, is a great conquest that we must take care, preserve, defend and celebrate. "
