Guanajuato, Gto., May 15, 2019.- A professor of the Department of Economics and Finance and two graduates of the degree in economics of the Division of Economic Management Sciences (DCEA) of the Guanajuato Campus of the University of Guanajuato (UG), obtained the qualification as best Publication of the Year of the magazine "Regional Science Policy and Practice Best Paper Award".

This is Dr. Manuel de Jesús Gómez-Zaldívar, the Mtro. Marco Tulio Mosqueda and the Lic. Jazmin Alejandra Duran, who in joint research published in the International magazine the article titled: "Localization of manufacturing industries and specialization in Mexican states: 1993 – 2013".

In an interview, Dr. Gómez-Saldivar explained that this joint work was published in November 2017, but it was until the beginning of this 2019 when they were notified that this article had been described as the best of the year, given that these Acknowledgments, with some delay in accordance with their publication.

The editors of this magazine, he said, all belong to European universities, and this is a publication specializing in regional economics that analyzes how countries develop inside and analyses economies at the national level, but Subdivided into regions, states or municipalities, so the topic of the study presented was on the analysis of the economy by States in Mexico.

It is worth mentioning that, to date, the Mtro. Marco Tulio is working in the Bank of Mexico headquarters Guadalajara and Lic. Jazmin Alejandra Duran works at the comptroller of the UG.

Dr. Gómez-Saldivar noted that all publications position both the institution and researchers, and personally consolidates and maintains its status as a researcher of the National System of Researchers (SNI) before the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT); It consolidates the academic body to which it belongs and is recognized as a teacher with a desirable profile for DCEA and UG.

Among the arguments of the Editorial Board of the journal to qualify the research of UG, highlights the methodology, "well thought out and applied to the national economy to review changes in sectoral or regional actions", which is a good compendium and a very thorough investigation, besides that it will be an enlightening document in the policy and way of proceeding at income level, very useful for the students of this subject.
