Guanajuato, Gto., May 14, 2019.- In order to decrease the rates of school lag and offer the best conditions of development for the students, the University of Guanajuato (UG) launched the system of integral accompaniment in the trajectory of the student "Trayectoria ES UG", which concentrates efforts of the general rectory, the four campuses and the high school college.

The program has an impact on such diverse areas as regulated pass, scholarships, mobility, mentoring, social service, educational multimodality and student support services, which have been relaxed and adapted to the needs of the university community.

In the presentation, the President of the UG, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino explained that the program conceives the student as a person with a trajectory, which can suffer ups and downs by different circumstances and in all must have the Back of his house of studies.

He emphasized that the student is the raison d'être of the institution, and with this vision has worked since the beginning of the administration in different strategies and articulated efforts to make possible the changes that derive in better services for the community University.

A fundamental element of "Trayectorias ES UG" is a software that concentrates information on the student and at the same time offers data to help the decision making in the institution.

In this regard, the Secretary of Management and Development, Dr. Jorge Alberto Romero Hidalgo explained that with support of the program to strengthen the educational quality of the Ministry of Public Education was designed a tool supported by a database that groups ten years of student information and their trajectory within the UG.

He clarified that the technology is conceived as a medium, and it is the academic accompaniment that will allow to meet the objectives raised and contribute to generate successful trajectories in the House of Studies.

For his part, the Director of student development, Mtro. José Osvaldo Chávez Rodríguez celebrated the joint efforts and the constant search for new forms of collaboration, all with the vision that are the students who constitute the center of all the work that takes place in the UG.

In his speech, the Academic Secretary, Dr. Sergio Antonio Silva Muñoz, recalled that the lag in high school level is 50 percent, and at a higher level is even greater, so reversing these indicators is an important challenge for the state and country.

He stressed that UG is the first university in Mexico to develop a tool for real-time information on student status and the level of vulnerability or risk of desertion.

Corresponded to the Pro Vost, Dr. Héctor Efraín Rodríguez de la Rosa to welcome and discuss the objectives and challenges of "Trayectoria ES UG". In this regard, he said that more than 40,000 lives are entrusted to this institution, so that the accompaniment is a priority and at the same time an institutional imperative.

In the ceremony were present unipersonal authorities, members of the management team of the UG, as well as students, academic and administrative staff.
