Guanajuato, Gto., May 9, 2019.- Under the auspices of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design (DAAD) of the Guanajuato Campus of the University of Guanajuato (UG); The University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, USA; The "Associazione Italiana Silvestre Revueltas" and the State Institute of Culture, will begin on Monday, May 13, the first edition of the project Silvestre Revueltas.

This was announced at a press conference, Dr. Francisco Javier González Compean, Director of the DAAD; Dr. Adriana Marina Martínez Maldonado, professor of the Department of Music and Performing arts and Dr. Jorge Pérez Gómez, recognized in the United States and Mexico as a great expert for his research and dissemination of the works of the Mexican-American composer Silvestre Revueltas.

The university and the academics, reported on the details of the project Silvestre Revueltas, which will be held from May 13 to 18, both in the Teatro Juárez with the gala concert and in the building of arts at Campus Guanajuato.

It was highlighted the unpublished fact of the direction of the concert of Saturday 18 in the Teatro Juárez, by two young directors: the fourth semester student of the BA in Music of the UG, Sonia Rodríguez Gonzalez, and the graduate of the University of New Mexico , Gabriela Garza Canales; who will lead the second half of the concert.

On Friday, May 17, Dr. Eugenia Revueltas Acevedo, of the College of Hispanic Letters and daughter of the Mexican composer Silvestre riots, will give a talk in the smoking room of the Teatro Juárez, where she will share anecdotes about his father accompanied by Dr. Roberto Kolb Neuhaus, a musicologist of UNAM and the Director of the "Associazione Italiana Silvestre Revueltas", Dr. Silvano Mangiapelo.
