
Guanajuato, Gto., June 7, 2019.- Estela García Patlán, student of the Master's Degree in Management, Development and Government of the Division of Law, Politics and Government (DDPG) of the Guanajuato Campus of the University of Guanajuato (UG), won the "Oscar Oszlak" award during her participation in the Conference the Inter-American Network of Education in Public Administration (INPAE), which was held at the University of Concepción, Chile.
That's how the Mtra. Rosa María Pérez Vargas reported it, Coordinator of the educational program Master in Management, Development and Government of the DDPG, who celebrated that the work presented by the student: "Guanajuato, the challenges in public safety", was the work to receive the aforementioned award, a fact relevant given that more than 20 presentations were presented and that it was the first time that a UG student had won the award at the Inter-American level.
Mtra. Pérez Vargas remembered that the graduate program that she coordinates is part of the Inter-American Network of Education in Public Administration (INPAE), in which permanent activities are carried out and holds its annual conference with specific themes in each of them.
Thus, thanks to the support of the Rectory of the Guanajuato Campus and the Division of Law, Politics and Government; have participated in the annual conference of the INPAE Network, in which in addition to an academic program the "Oscar Oszlak" award is awarded to the best presentation of the conference.
She explained that only students from the Network's member schools compete and the award consists of financial support and with the publication of the work in the Journal "Govern", which is an "International Journal" on public policy and governance and is the magazine of the network, sponsored by EAFIT University in Colombia and Binghamton University.
On this occasion, she reported, with the participation of three students of the master's degree in Management, Development and Government at the XV annual INPAE Conference at the University of Concepción Chile, two of the papers were selected to compete in the award.
She added that, within the student attachment program, one of them, María Gómez Ojeda, will be conducting a research stay at the National General University Sarmiento, in Argentina; under the direction of one of the network's teachers.
Likewise, student Erika Gómez Velasco, has received the invitation to stay at the National University of Colombia. Both students, with teachers and institutions member of the INPAE Network.
Mtra. Rosa María Pérez Vargas underlined that today, with the fourth generation in progress, they are very happy with the achievements of the students and with the successful collaboration they are having with the Inter-American Network of Education in Public Administration (INPAE).
