book-Guanajuato, Gto., June 5, 2019.- In front of the university community, the e-Book "Aspects of Current Musicological Research was presented with great success. Composers, musical forms, execution, improvisation, art and soundscape", coordinated by Dr. Fabrizio Ammetto and with the contribution of nine professors from different higher educational institutions of Mexico in the musical and musicological fields.

It was in the Building of the Arts of the Guanajuato Campus of the University of Guanajuato (UG), where students and teachers of the Department of Music and Performing Arts of the Division of Architecture, Art and Design (DAAD) gathered, to know this magnificent academic product.

In her message, Dr. Teresita de Jesús Rendón Huerta Barrera, Rector of the Guanajuato Campus of the UG, celebrated the presentation of this work masterfully coordinated by Dr. Ammetto and made by nine participants who give an example of what every musician should have in their training: knowing how to investigate, which would even facilitate insertion into the world of work, as well as highlighting the need to strengthen musicology.

This collective book, said Dr. Rendón, superbly coordinated by Dr. Fabrizio Ammetto and made by nine teachers from different higher educational institutions in Mexico, covers three general themes corresponding to many other chapters.

The participating teachers are: Mtro. Gustavo Rafael Castro Ortigoza; Dr. Alejandra Béjar Bartolo; Mtro. Alonso Hernández Prado; Dr. Elena Podzharova; Dr. Juan Hugo Barreiro Lastra; Dr. Alfonso Pérez Sánchez; Mtro. Omar Córdova Azuela, Mtra. Mayela del Carmen Villarreal Hernández and Dr. Ramón Alvarado Angulo.

On this presentation, Dr. Rendón Huerta invited students to have an interest in research, as this is the only way forward in the various disciplines of knowledge, and complete professional training is not achieved if it does not cover research.

In sum, she said, the e-Book is a magnificent work, so she made clear her recognition of the group of professors who worked scientifically and with enormous responsibility and the directors of Division and Department for their support, in addition to inviting the spread of the book, for the sake and prestige of the University of Guanajuato.

For his part, Dr. Francisco Javier González Compeán, Director of the Architecture, Art and Design Division (DAAD), commented that these products allow to make an effective basis of knowledge, because in budget terms it is safe to get where they should, in this case, in musicological research.

He therefore welcomed the decision to make a digital format that will allow a good mobilization of the product, in addition to the beautiful design and academic rigor that has always characterized the productions of Dr. Ammetto.

As for the background, Dr. González Compeán emphasized that the topics addressed by this book are representative of what has been being promoted in the UG and will mean a strong boost from the Academic Body of the Department for Musicological Research in the State, the region, and even national level, as tackling musicology from a bachelor's level is relatively new and, having products already, speaks of a great effort.

Dr. Fabrizio Ammetto, Coordinator of the record project and coordinator of the e-Book, explained that this material published by the UG represents the tangible product of a network of academic bodies of music and musicological research approved SEP Mexico.

With this e-Book, he explained, it seeks to meet the institutional goals of the UG and is in fact considered as a sign of virtuous linkage between the theoretical and practical aspects of music, that is, between scientific reflection and executive practice.

Dr. Ammetto also noted that, in order to grow in the musical and musicological fields, one of the substantive functions needed to grow: research, but currently in the Department of Music and Performing Arts, there is only one consolidated academic body of musicology, recognized by the Secretariat of Public Education (SEP).

In addition, there are only three full-time teachers who are in the National System of Researchers (SNI) and at the music graduate level there is no quality postgraduate standard, so it invited to support other musicological research projects to strengthen these activities. Finally, he commented that the book is the result of the International Cooperation between the UG and the "Associazione Culturale L'Orfeo di Spoleto" Italy, an agreement in force until 2023.

It should be noted that, as moderator was, the Mtro. Jonathan Josafat González García, Academic Coordinator of the Bachelor of Music, and who corresponded to the Mtro. Luis Flores Villagómez, Director of the Department of Music and Performing Arts to welcome those present, among them, Department Directors, students and teachers.
