Irapuato, Gto. June 4, 2019.- For their high-impact scientific work, the professors of the Irapuato-Salamanca Campus of the University of Guanajuato (UG), Dr. José Eleazar Barboza Corona and Dr. Eduardo Cabal Yépez were called to collaborate as associate editors in leading publications international scientists.
Dr. José Eleazar Barboza Corona, professor in the Department of Food, member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences and the National System of Researchers Level 2, was invited to be part of the Editors corps of the Journal "Frontiers in Microbiology", as an Associate Editor in Micro biotechnology, Ecotoxicology and Bioremediation. This is the No. 1 Journal in microbiology worldwide for its number of quotations and has an impact factor of 4,019 in the Journal Citation Report (JCR).
Previously Dr. Barboza-Corona served as guest editor on the research topic "Novel Research on Metabolites Secreted by Gram-Positive Bacteria" or Novel Research of Metabolites secreted by Gram-positive bacteria, from the same journal, as well as in BioMed Research International (impact factor 2.58 in the JCR) with the theme "Antimicrobial Peptides: Current and potential application in Biomedical therapies".
For his part, Dr. Eduardo Cabal Yépez, professor-researcher in the Department of Multidisciplinary Studies and member of the National System of Researchers Level 2, collaborates in several publications, including Computers & Electrical Engineering, as area editor for Signal and Image Processing in the journal that has an impact factor of 1,747 in the Journal Citation Report (JCR) and since 1973 provides a forum for research publication on the integration of computer technology and computational techniques with electrical and electronic systems.
He is also associate editor of Digital Signal Processing, an impact factor magazine 2,241 at the JCR and is one of the most traditional scientific journals in the field of signal processing. It aims to publish frontier articles providing an outreach platform for novel research with academic and industrial interest.
He also collaborates as an associate editor participating in IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, an impact factor magazine 2,794 in the JCR, which seeks scientific articles that propose novel solutions for the development and use of electrical and electronic instruments, measuring equipment, monitoring and recording of physical phenomena with the aim of achieving advances in the sciences and measurement methods, their functionality and applications.
The main function of an associated editor is to directly monitor interaction between review editors (and/or external reviewers) and authors during the peer review process. That is, it builds a rigorous review editorial board. After the review process, make the final decision to accept an article or recommend it for rejection. The name and institutional affiliation of the associated editor, along with that of the review editors, are published on the first page of the article where he served as editor, thus recognizing his service to the scientific community and also as a call for conduct accountable, explained Dr. Eleazar Barboza.
The professor, who is a member of the Academic Body of Agricultural Biotechnology with indefinitely consolidated status, mentioned that the editors associated with the journal "Frontiers in Microbiology" are high-impact researchers and recognized leaders in their with a strong history of peer-reviewed publications in international journals and recognized affiliation. They usually have a teacher, holder, or associate level, or an equivalent position of equal position in their field.
