Guanajuato, Gto. May 31, 2019.- "Message of Life" is a learning, service and encouragement project from the active citizens organized by the "Ethics Group" formed by students of the Division of Natural and Exact Sciences (DCNE) of Guanajuato Campus of the University of Guanajuato (UG).
Its objective is to impact students directly in their comprehensive training, developing social communication skills, perspective and social responsibility, conflict management and resolution and having learning-service as a response integrator, all within the framework of a multidisciplinary approach.
Extensive to society, "Message of Life" is the tool with which DCNE students convey a positive and formative message to the community, supporting causes with a long-term social responsibility orientation and with the firm intention that it is sustainable.
As one of its many activities the Ethics Group is organizing the conference "Conversemos, el reto de ser feliz", taught by Mauricio Oñate Rubio, renowned Chilean motivator, who comes to Guanajuato with a dynamic of life reflection that seeks the development of emotional intelligence.
The conference will be held on June 6 at 19:00 hours at the Gran Plaza Hotel in the state capital, with a donation of $100 pesos. The proceeds will be to support the social project "Rafaela Jordán, Learning, Growing, Dreaming", a civil association that helps the girls of the Internship "El Buen Pastor" of the city of Guanajuato, providing them ballet classes as a form of healthy and creative expression.
In this regard, student Uriel Maldonado Hernández, from the second semester of the DCNE Bachelor of Chemistry mentioned in interview that they are organizing this event "with the participation of the entire student community of the University, even of outsiders, so that we can mainly support the cause 'Rafaela Jordán' to buy a special floor for ballet classes", as this association has started to teach the girls of boarding school.
The girls that house the "Casa del Buen Pastor" have lived a multitude of situations that make them a vulnerable group. With ballet and other activities, they have access to a way to express themselves, have fun and at the same time discover new talents and fill themselves with confidence.
The guest speaker, Mauricio Oñate Rubio, Chilean, has traveled more than 31 countries and today adds about 500 cities, serving three years in Mexico. Academically he holds a bachelor's degree in Social Work, a bachelor's degree in Education, a master's degree in Professional Education and a postgraduate degree in Emotional Development; has experience in the areas of education, well-being and human development. In Mexico he has been a collaborator of more than 200 institutions, sharing from what he calls "smiling learning".
His methodology is based on getting to look at us from who we are; in a playful, dynamic environment, with a simple and colloquial language, that manages to interpret with each smile, the reflection of what would be a better destination.
As an added incentive, students across the UG who attend the event will be given participation units in the Social Responsibility sub-area.
