Celaya, Gto. August 26, 2019.- At the end of the local phase of the Marathon on Ethics and Accounting, organized by the Mexican Institute of Public Accountants (IMCP), two teams of students from the Celaya-Salvatierra Campus of the University of Guanajuato (UG), were selected, who they will attend the regional stage to be held on September 23 in the city of Aguascalientes.

In the marathon, students from the University of Guanajuato and the Universidad Tecnológica del Norte del Estado competed, who during the competition solved a knowledge questionnaire of the Financial Reporting Standards and another on Accounting Ethics.

As part of the evaluation, the teams solved case studies, where they had the opportunity to capture their knowledge and criteria to solve them. After an arduous day of an entire morning, the qualification of the evaluation instruments was carried out, the two representatives of this Campus, who will face their peers in the regional stage and, if they are winners, will be able to attend the National Marathon, in which only the two best teams from each region will be.

At that stage, 60 federated schools in the country that teach the public accounting degree participate and, according to information provided by the organizers, the only way to qualify to participate in the national marathon is to obtain one of the two first places in the regional competition.

The students participating by the UG are regular students of the degree of Public Accounting, which has been offered on this Campus for 70 years and that has national certification and accreditation as a quality program.

The IMCP consists of 8 states, 14 schools and 5 regions. They carry out this Marathon within the framework of the National Convention to be held in October and the purpose is to approach the best professionals of the Public Accounting of the country, so that they join the College once they finish their studies.

As part of the qualifying jury, the Vice President of the College in Celaya, C.P. Armando Oliveros Ontiveros and the Prof. José Guadalupe Rivera Coronado were present.
