Irapuato, Gto., August 20, 2019.- Thanks to agreements agreed with different universities, the Irapuato-Salamanca Campus of the University of Guanajuato (UG) promotes the international mobility of students to promote their integral training.

In this semester August-December, 12 students of the Campus make academic stays in the United States, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Spain and in France. In the latter country the stay will be 1 year through the MEXFITEC scholarship. In relation to national mobility, campus students will make a stay for a semester at the Autonomous University of Baja California Sur.

Simultaneously, the Division of Life Sciences in Irapuato and the Engineering Division in Salamanca, received students from the Spanish universities of Malaga and Public of Navarra; as well as the Universidad Santo Tomás de Aquino, Bogotá campus.

University authorities welcomed exchange students, with an approach to holders from the main service areas, such as Division Directors, Academic Secretaries, the Student Development Coordination, the Inter-Agency Relations and the Campus Security Officer.

Irune Santiesteban, from Navarra, explained that she is studying Agro-Food Engineering and the Rural Environment, so she chose to complement her studies in Food Engineering because she takes more subjects with an agronomic approach and is interested in the process of food and how to get to the industry.

Juan David Mendoza, from Colombia, studies Mechanical Engineering and chose the Engineering Division to focus on his research project about thermofluids and power generation systems, one of the research lines that have professors at the Salamanca headquarters.

Alvaro Brocal Martínez, from Malaga, came on the recommendation of another partner who was in Mexico, from there his interest in completing his training in the field of Mechanical Engineering arose.

The head of the Interinstitutional Relations Unit, M. Liliana Llanas Reséndiz, pointed out that for the Campus it is very important to participate students in national and international mobility, since it is the students who become ambassadors and promoters of the university.

In previous periods, students of Digital Arts have been sent to the University of Malaga, but this is the first time that a mechanical engineering student from that institution has arrived. From the University of Navarra is also the first time that a student of Food Engineering is received, although every semester at least one student of this Campus, he explained.

With the Universidad Santo Tomás de Colombia there is a very close relationship in the area of engineering, as there is a bilateral exchange that supports with lodging and food, as well as a close collaboration with research professors of the Campus.
