León, Gto., August 16, 2019.- Erika Elena Rodríguez Hernández, a seventh semester student of the Bachelor's Degree in Culture and Art of the León Campus of the University of Guanajuato (UG) led for one year a project that was carried out in connection with the Municipal Institute of the Youth of León, with in order to arouse interest in art and culture and promote artistic development from an early age.

The project ended with a recital of the play Alice in Wonderland, in which 25 girls demonstrated what they learned under the technique of the English Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) system.

This project in addition to allowing small ones to develop their motor skills and body expression represented the opportunity to have an approach to art and culture, as well as to work on other aspects of their training such as the expression of emotions , discipline, sense of responsibility, awakening creativity, group integration, stage management, among others.

Erika Rodríguez commented in an interview that the workshop was made up of two groups: the first of them consisting of girls aged three to six and the second from seven to twelve years who attended every Tuesday; he noted that the goal "was to generate interest in the performing arts and culture and develop their possibilities within the same art and to start to know and raise awareness."

It should be noted that the participating girls belong to families of limited resources and from vulnerable colonies among which are Piletas, San Juan Bosco, Héroes de León, among others.

She indicated that this project was important because in this way the right to access cultural services was facilitated to the public and allowed them to know the social needs of the locality to generate proposals and thus develop the artistic talent that allow the knowledge gained in their schooling to be put into practice.

She added that with parents there was feedback on the evolution of learning and the development of skills and habits that would serve as the basis for the work of a future dancer of this artistic discipline. She mentioned that the parents got involved in the workshop and participated in the costume and makeup.

Carla Muñoz Dueñas student of the Bachelor of Culture and Art also participated in this project; Sandra Hernández Olmos of the Bachelor of Sciences of Physical Activity and Health and Itzel Ibarra of Political Science and Public Administration, who worked on the logistics of the end-of-year event.
