
Guanajuato, Gto., November 3, 2015.- During the event World Universities Conference (WUC), students from the University of Guanajuato from the Division of Engineering at Campus Leon, received the prize for the innovation and creation of the company "MEXICLA" that produces resin based on PET.
The granted prize is for a quantity of twenty thousand pesos in cash destined for developing the company. Three hundred thousand in incubation and two full scholarships at Hack Institute in Distrito Federal to study a course on technology, as well as other significant stimuli.
The entrepreneur students from this project thanked Dr. Ma. Guadalupe de la Rosa Álvarez, researcher at Campus Leon, for encouraging them to participate in this kind of events and generate an entrepreneur culture in the student's performance.
The WUC is the most important inter-university congress in Mexico and gathers students with entrepreneur spirit from all the country providing them with tools and experience that help them boost their competitive skills in an innovative form in a global environment.
The project featured within the WUC contest. It consisted in creating a socially responsible company in less than two days. The company "MEXICLA" contemplates generating a high-demand raw material in different industries like automotive, footwear, electronics, and musical, among others.
It is important to mention, that in the industries mentioned above –to whom they pretend to supply— are located in the Bajío zone, and will benefit the society from Guanajuato in both products and generating employment.
The participant students for the "MEXICLA" project are from Biomedical Engineering Luis Fernando Gómez Caballero, Vania Pamela Martínez Godínez and Ángel Lizbeth Piña Ruiz. From Sustainable Chemical Engineering, Bárbara Andrea Manriquez Ascencio, Marlon Manuel Hernández Hoyos, Marcela Giovana García Domínguez, José Rubén Pérez Mendoza, Verónica del Ángel Hernández and Kenia Paola Betsabe Martínez Galván. From Physical Engineering, Daniela Olivia Sandoval Castro.
