Guanajuato, Gto., November 9, 2015. In recognition to "his science, virtues and relevant career", the Mexican Academy of Criminology (AMC for its acronym in Spanish) incorporated as a Member of Number Dr. Julio César Kala, researcher and professor from the Division of Law, Politics and Government for the University of Guanajuato (UG).

At the ceremony, the general rector from UG, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, served as honor witness, who declared student and pupil from Dr. Kala and described him as a "criminology appassionato and a friend of the academy" therefore he celebrated his incorporation to the select group of specialists that form the AMC.

In his inaugural address, Dr. Kala referred to the integration problems from the central subject of Criminology, and gave a brief walkthrough through the history of this science, at the same time he exposed the new challenges and importance this discipline faces in the actual context.

Likewise, hr thanked the Mexican Academy of Criminology for the given opportunity to approach professors, partners and colleagues with great prestige. In a especial form, he expressed his gratitude to Dr. Héctor Chincoya Teutli, founding president of the AMC, who promoted Dr. Kala to enter this association,

In response to the speech from the UG's professors, Dr. Chincoya Teutli pointed out that it is essential that Mexico organize the criminological guild, guarantee the academic quality of the study plans and form colleges that regulate the professional expertise of the criminologists.

He reminded that the AMC has an important role in society being integrated by professional critics committed to strengthen the criminological culture, as well as the social prevention of violence and delinquency.

In this sense, he sustained that receiving Dr. Kala allows the project of the Academy of Criminology to reinforce which is why he invited the researcher to pursue his academic project to benefit UG and society.

Dr. Julio César Kala is a graduate from the National Institute of Criminal Sciences (INACIPE for its acronym in Spanish), specialist in criminal statistics and criminal politics. Professor in the Department of Law, and member of the board in the University of Guanajuato. He is part of the National Researchers System; in his career, a post-doctoral stay in the Max Planck Institute of International Criminal Law stands out, this institute is located in Germany and an intense editorial production.
