
Guanajuato, Gto., November 10, 2015. Authorities from the University of Guanajuato (UG), led by the general rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, held a meeting with the president and CEO of Mazda from Mexico Vehicle Operation, Keishi Egawa, with the purpose to seek strategies so UG can provide human capital to the Japanese company.
At the same time, this will allow strengthening bonds between the University of Guanajuato and the University of Hiroshima, such Japanese institution maintains a close relationship with the automotive sector, particularly with Mazda.
It is important to remind, that the collaboration between UG and the University of Hiroshima began in the engineering area, and in February 2015 extended to all knowledge areas.
The approach between Ug and the Japanese University happened because of recent investments that Japanese companies did in the state of Guanajuato, among them Mazda.
The University of Hiroshima is one of the educative institutions with great prestige and academic quality in Japan, besides being a reference in teaching and researching engineering, cultivates areas such as law, economy, letters, education, arts, medicine and human studies.
Mazda –whose main plant is in Hiroshima—has an advanced system of scientific research and since the installation in the city of Salamanca, it showed its interest to develop joint projects in the University of Guanajuato.
In the meeting that occurred in the University of Guanajuato, also present were the Academic Secretary from UG, Dr. José Luis Lucio Martínez. Director of Academic Cooperation, Dr. Sergio Antonio Silva Muñoz. Director of the Division of Economic-Administrative Sciences (DCEA) from Campus Guanajauto, Dr. Claudia Susana Gómez López; as well as Isamu Onuma who is performing a stay at DCEA as part of the Veteran Volunteer program from the Agency of International Cooperation from Japan.
