
DICIS FAVORS THE INTERNATIONAL COMPETENCE CONTRIBUTING IN THE COUNTRY'S SOCIAL PROBLEMS.
Guanajuato, Gto., November 11, 2015.- With the purpose to generate international competencies among the students from the University of Guanajuato, students from the Division of Engineering at Campus Irapuato-Salamanca (DICIS for its acronym in Spanish) are part of the group student sections in the American Society of Mechanical Engineers – Mexican Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME – SOMIM) and Pi Tau Sigma.
The professor at the department, and member of Pi Tau Sigma, Dr. Abel Hernández Guerrero, assured that belonging to such associations allows the student to have the necessary tools to lead, implement innovative solutions to technical and social problems.
The general rector from the University of Guanajuato presented the results from projects that develop at ASME – SOMIM, and manifested his total support for all the projects that generate from the students in all knowledge areas, through organized groups, like this association.
In addition, he expressed that the students are the reason to be in the university and as such "all administration must dedicate its everyday work to guarantee the comprehensive formation of the college students".
The young students presented the activity program they are going to develop through 2016, highlighting the project "Amigo Universitario" (College Friend), "Women in Engineering", "Concurso de Física (Physics contest), "Talleres de paquetes de diseño y análisis computacional" (Workshops of design packages and computing analysis) and "Major in Engineering".
The president from the student section ASME – SOMIM, Chirstopher Orozco Aguilar, explained that through the contests, competencies and encounters throughout the year, allows developing skills and techniques in the resolution of problems and development of applications.
It is important to mention that the student section ASME – SOMIM, is a group of students from the Division of Engineering at Campus Irapuato-Salamanca from the University of Guanajuato; and are members of ASME International and the SOMIM, founded with the purpose to contribute with this house of studies to achieve a more comprehensive preparation of its members, as well as to interact with their social environment and contribute in the progress,
As for the University of Guanajuato, is the first institution of Mexico to enter Pi Tau Sigma, society of honor and excellence in mechanical engineering in an international level, created in US in 1915 and until today gathers 174 collegiate chapters.
The assistants that belong to the student sections ASME- SOMIM are Christopher Orozco Aguilar; Cristo Fernando López Medellín; Javier Rodríguez Flores; Dulce Ivonne Aguilera Hernández; Adam Hernández Miranda; and Luis Paniagua Guerra.
Representing the Pi Tau Sigma association were Adrián Herrera Amaya, Alhelí Pérez Hernández; Ulises González Valle; and Dr. Abel Hernández Guerrero.
