Guanajuato, Gto., a November 23, 2015.- The "Comisión Estatal para la Planeación de la Educación Superior A.C. (COEPES) from Guanajuato, organized the first forum of University Social Responsibility, event where the University of Guanajuato participated actively.

The forum took place in the "Universidad Iberoamericana León", enclosure that hosted diverse directors, professors and students from different institutions that form COEPES.

Such event inaugurated with the objective to sensitize higher education schools on the responsibility they have with society, for that, activities such as conferences, workshops and thought tables will promote the formation of students as agents of sustainable human development in the country.

Equally, topics on the production of knowledge with a social focus were covered and the aperture of the university to society and from society to the university occurred through projects with benefic focuses.

Dr. François Vallaeys was in charge of giving the masterful conference with the name "Responsibildad Social Universitaria: tarea de todos" (University Social Responsibility: Task from all). In the talk, he remarked the commitment universities should have with their environment, with the purpose to improve it and direct it to a social wellbeing.

He commented that the systematic and innovative solutions do exist, that is why professors, students, graduates and administrative personnel from educative institutions must work together to solve problems of such demanding society as the current.

Dr. Vallaeys indicated the relevance of generating learning based in social projects and consensus public policies, as well as form universities that are social and environmentally exemplary, administrated in a participative form.

It is important to mention that Dr. François Vallaeys is a French philosopher living in Peru for more than 20 years. He is a specialist in social responsibility and applied ethics in organizational management. Likewise, he has a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of East Paris. He conceived the concept of university social responsibility in Latin America, assessing many universities from the continent and international organisms.
