Guanajuato, Gto., November 24, 2015.- The III Temporary Photographic Exposition "Murmullos de Luz" (Whispers of light) inaugurated in the Hall "Alfonso Bernal Sahagún" from the Division of Natural and Exact Sciences (DCNE) from Campus Guanajuato. In this exposition, the students display microscopic images of objects and living beings that present an artistic aspect with the microscopic techniques such as bright field, dark field, phase contrast, fluorescence, polarization and scanning.
The inauguration was in charge of Dr. Martín Picón Nuñez, director of the DCNE and Dr. Armando Obregón Herrera, who teaches the course "Microscopy and microphotography" in the department of Biology.
Dr. Picón Nuñez stated that in this course, the students "no only bring to sight things we do not know, but they do it gladly and colorful which encourages to know even more; they develop the capacity to show that science also transmits many things to the soul and that it inspires".
In his behalf, Dr. Armando Obregón, who selected the works that represent the academic and scientific expertise from the youth, said that this photographic gallery born the uneasiness to show the world things that they see in their work every day, which is observing through a lens and show in detail the environment in which the society lives.
Besides, this year is special when 2015 was declared as the international year of light from UNESCO, both the light as the lens are basic elements in the conformation of the microscope, he stated, "the light combined with the lens, allows seeing the invisible details for the human eye through the microscope, and the most important is the own luminosity of the human being capable of creating, researching, loving and sharing".
This is the third time a gallery of this kind presents, the first was "Maravillas Ocultas" (Hidden marvels), with forty images within the event of divulgation of science is culture in the UG and the second time was "Mundo Microscópico" (Microscopic world), that presented in the Museum "Alfredo Dugés" and the Museum "Atrio".
Forty-three photographs compose this exposition and will be available from November 24 to 26 in the lower floor of E Building from the Division of Natural Sciences in Noria Alta. For the first months next year, they plan to present it in the city of San Francisco del Rincón, Mexico.
