Salamanca, Gto. November 26, 2015.- The master degree in Electric Engineering option Instrumentation and digital systems, offered in Campus Irapuato-Salamanca from the University of Guanajuato, endorsed its international competence in the National Census of Quality Postgraduates (PNPC for its acronym in Spanish) from the National Council of Science and Technology.

The coordinator from the master, Dr. Juan Gabriel Aviña Cervantes, considered this recognition to be an institutional transcendence for the postgraduate programs in engineering, because it guarantees that the students will receive a high quality academic and scientific formation with competitive scholarships from the Mexican government.

The reaccreditation process comprehended the review of the postgraduate's main indicators: terminal efficiency (rate of graduation and time of graduation), teaching faculty, academic mobility of students and professors, agreements with the productive sector and foreign institutions, infrastructure and modern equipment, digital information means and institutional schemes to strengthen the postgraduate.

There was a personal interview with the coordinator of the program, Dr. Aviña Cervantes and Chief of Postgraduates, M. Luis Martín Villalobos Ramírez with the reviewing committee from the PNPC, who dictated the ratification of the postgraduate to have international quality in November this year.

It is important to mention, that in some periods this educative program has had true excellent leaders in their field in its personnel, such as Dr. William Happ, pioneer of the microprocessor technology. Dr. Reg Kaenel, innovator of the communications by digital network of integrated services and Dr. Henryk Tunya, widely known for his contributions in power electronics.

This postgraduate was created in 1975 in the Department of Communications and Electronic from the then "Facultad de Ingeniería Mecánica Eléctrica y Electrónica (FIMEE)", now Division of Engineering. It currently has a growing enrollment of Mexican students, as well as twenty-six students from different countries such as Democratic Republic of Congo, Colombia, Cuba, Venezuela and Guatemala, creating a multicultural and globalized competitiveness environment.

Since 1992, the program entered the postgraduate of excellence from CONACyT and in 2010 obtained the recognition of a consolidated program with international competence by the PNPC, for its international collaborations that include mobility of students and professors, the co-direction of theses and joint research projects.
