Guanajuato, Gto., November 26, 2015.- The "Ballet Folklórico de la Universidad de Guanajuato (BAFUG) will celebrate its 30th anniversary with a gala, next Saturday November 28 at 7:00pm in the Auditorium of the state.

I an interview, BAFUG's director, M. Roberto Martínez Rocha, mentioned that for the anniversary presentation the public would enjoy the execution of different choreographies with approximately sixty dancer on scene.

This time, there will be ex-members from BAFUG participating who join the festivities to acknowledge the evolution this outstanding college group of ballet has had.

"In the musical part we will have as guests the group "Sonarte" from Aguascalientes. Also, with us the traditional band from the state of Michoacán, as well as the group "Coral Norteño".One of the aspects that will enrich the show, are the guest choreographers, who in previous times had worked with BAFUG", indicated M. Roberto Martínez.

This anniversary event will be special, because for the first time it will have an international repertoire. "We are going to release choreographies and dances from Colombia, the assistants would enjoy cumbia and mapalé. This is the beginning of a medium to long-term project that covers the afro-successor regions of our country, which is why we speak of our third root which precisely is the African", explain the director.

At the same time he assured "dancing brothers and teaches us, we create bonds with other cultures and countries, for this commemoration a Colombian choreographer came to work with our ballet and teach us the essence of their music".

It is precise to mention that currently BAFUG is a very large aggrupation, its composed by a children and youth sections, as well as the institutional ballet composed by college students and graduates.

Also important to mention that BAFUG was founded between November 1985 and April 1986 led at that time by M. América Balbuena Cisneros. It is from August 1997 that the direction of the ballet stays in charge of Roberto Martínez Rocha who along eighteen years founded the Children and Youth Ballets.

Its from this point that the dancing activity focuses as part of a formative and comprehensive education and with the uneasiness to rescue and keep the ethno-dancing and musical process from the country. The group performs choreographic montages with the purpose to know, conserve and sustain the traditions from the state of Guanajuato and Mexico as part of the cultural heritage.
