
León, Gto., December 2, 2015.- Students from the bachelor degree in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation from Campus León from the University of Guanajuato, made activities where they invited students from other bachelors and university professors to be in the place of a person with disability with the purpose to reinforce empathy.
The event happened by initiative from the students who handled during the event, activities and messages of inclusion of vulnerable people and groups.
Every December 3, the international day of persons with disabilities is celebrated and among their objectives is to sensitize make aware of the situations the people with this condition go through every day, besides promoting the improvement of spaces of equal opportunity.
Among the activities organized by the students, there was a rally with the name "Knowing the disability", and dynamics as "control of your body", "say it with mimic", "activate your sense", be in their place", and "visual disability", in that way the participants tested their senses and control of their body.
Nevertheless, they gave information to who assisted about what the UN does to set in practice the motivating slogan for this year "Inclusion matters, access and empowering for people with all kind of disabilities".
The organizers coexisted with the university community without losing sight of the dimension and transcendence this day has for persons with a disability.
For her part, the coordinator from the Bachelor in Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation, Dr. Beatriz Verónica González Sandoval, felt satisfied with the initiative from the students and thanked the assistants their presence. "The activities done by the students are part of their comprehensive formation and in them there is the reflection of the human part and collaboration of the guys with people who suffer a disability" she remarked.
