
León, Gto., December 7, 2015.- Researchers-professors from the Division of Science and Engineering from Campus Leon from the University of Guanajuato (UG) participated in the first official reunion of the Mexican Association of Synchrotron Users, A.C., in which the first agreements of this workgroup were signed.
On behalf of UG, Dr. Gustavo Cruz Jiménez and Dr. Maria Guadalupe de la Rosa Álvarez assisted, who also participated in the course on X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS).
Researchers from different institutions in the country recently created the Mexican Association of Synchrotron Users, A.C. with the objective to make research for who use synchrotron radiation and perform science of materials.
Besides the professors from UG Campus Leon, researchers from UNAM and universities from the state of Chiapas, Chihuahua, Instituto Tecnológico de Celaya and Stanford University participated.
The president of the Mexican Association of Synchrotron Users, A.C., Dr. Juan Carlos Fierro González, thanked who assisted their collaboration and invited to join the efforts to achieve the objectives and transcend beyond people who are part of the association.
In addition, he expressed his satisfaction to consolidate the association and the contribution from the researchers from the region's universities, in which the members from University of Guanajuato stand out.
