Guanajuato, Gto., December 8, 2015.- In the University of Guanajuato, students will present their research progress from December 9 to 11 in the auditorium Ernesto Scheffler located in Valenciana, a new edition of the colloquium of thesis students from the bachelor degree in History.

This colloquium has been done for more than five years during the evaluation week in every semester, so the students that course the Degree Seminar I and II that correspond to the seventh and eighth semesters present their research progress.

Dr. Miguel Angel Hernández Fuentes, coordinator from the bachelor degree in History and organizer of the event, commented that the purpose of the colloquium is to exercise students in the presentation of formal academic work, as well as to reinforce their speech and argument abilities, so in addition of finishing their degree project, they prepare to assist colloquiums, congresses and other academic events.

In addition, he said that this type of encounters are relevant because professors share their research expertise with the students that are beginning their academic career.

"The thesis is the first experience of formal research from the students, that is why, besides, supervision from their advisers, the comments and methodological, and bibliographical suggestions are very valuable because they receive them from both professors and partners to improve their degree projects and to feel more confident of completing this academic requirement", said Dr. Miguel Ángel Hernández.

The main topics of degree of this colloquium are regional history, that include several aspects from social, economic and political history from the state of Guanajuato; but also there are students interested in national history topics and even in foreign history.

It is important to mention, that this colloquium will be open for the public who is interested.
