Guanajuato, Gto., December 8, 2015.- The Social Service Group to Low-income Communities (SESCOBRE) from the Division of Social Sciences and Human Studies (DCSyH) from Campus Guanajuato took clothes, blankets and toys to the habitants from the community "El Tablón" and nearby zones.
Laura Estela Vázquez Rodríguez, head of the SESCOBRE group, commented that there was a good response from the population in Guanajuato to the call of gathering these goods, hence, the group of college students and administrative personnel of Social Sciences and civilian volunteers achieved and important collection.
Besides adult citizens, the greatest concern of the SESCOBRE members were the children and babies, for their vulnerability facing the inclement cold, besides representing most of the population.
The holder explained, "Many are the experiences and satisfactions, for example, a lady, as a sign of thank you, she offered everything she had: tortillas with beans and salt that obviously we all enjoyed". One of the main objectives of the SESCOBRE group is to promote solidarity among young students.
The invitation still open
Vázquez Rodríguez revealed that for the next semester there will be another tour to the same place, with the purpose to have a workshop of an auto consumption family orchard, for which a family from that place offered their house, in the meantime for children there will be painting and crafts and a sport activity like soccer.
In this time, she said, we will use the time to take another donation, that is why the call still open, in particular to donate shoes, socks and blankets, so the call for people of Guanajuato is to help not with the left overs, nor things in bad condition or dirty, the point is to share selflessly what is in good condition and other people can use.
