
Guanajuato, Gto., December 8, 2015.- Jorge Tavares, student from the bachelor degree in Biomedical Engineering from the Division of Science and Engineering from Campus Leon from the University of Guanajuato (UG), performs a research on blood flow.
The previous has the purpose to generate technology that can provide a better life quality in matters of health. In interview, Jorge Tavares mentioned that such research topic began developing it in a stay performed during summer in the University of California in San Diego, US.
"I was working in my research in the University of California making studies on blood flow. This is a topic with much interest, since heart diseases are more frequent in men older than 40 years old. I would like to improve this situation using the tools that I have learned during my time in UG", indicated.
Likewise, Tavares explained that being a Mexican student from a public university, makes him conscious of the great commitment he has with the society and the community, which is why he is interested in optimizing the health services in the country with the creation of the adequate technology.
It is important to mention, that the research he made in the University of California was presented during an international congress of biomedical studies in Washington, "going to the congress was a very enriching experience for me, because I made many links with students and researchers from other universities, and was in contact with recruiters to study a postgraduate in United States", said the student.
"Knowing how the heart works can help face heart diseases. In the future, my objective as professional is to offer cheaper technologies in health treatments in our country. Being student from UG, I have the opportunity to obtain the knowledge I need to achieve my goals", finalized Jorge Tavares.
