
Guanajuato, Gto., December 9, 2015.- The academic body from the Department of Organizational Studies from the Division of Economic-Administrative Sciences (DCEA) from Campus Guanajuato; works in a research project that looks into the use of mobile devices in education in presence teaching, then after two years of research, they could begin with some practical prototypes.
That is what M. Domingo Herrera González informed, Director from the Department of Organizational Studies and Dr. Francisco Javier Velázquez Saghaón, researcher-professor in charge of the academic group of organizational studies, formed by professors that carry on joint knowledge research and divulgation.
Dr. Velázquez pointed that the University of Guanajuato has distinguished for being aware of the new technologies in general; in fact, has already incurred in the use of technologies for long distance education, like the platform "virtual ugto". Now they seek to explore as academics in this new trend of mobile learning, known as "M-learning" that is designing a class for the students to use their smartphones, tablets or laptops.
Now, with the increase of cellphones among students in DCEA, the idea is for them to use it in something more than just "WhatsApp" or "Facebook", said the professor.
Dr. Velázquez Saghaón explained that they have been working these last two years in this research project, and for this, academics from other universities came to work in the same topic; specifically professors from the "Universidad Veracruzana" region Xalapa; from the "Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana Cuajimalpa and a professor from the "Universidad "Andres Bello" de Chile".
For two days, the professors were exposing progress, works to receive feedback from their colleagues, from other universities, with other contexts and visions, to make a favorable exchange and achieve a result to propose some specific strategies for the corresponding universities, to begin making changes an innovating the presence teaching, supported by mobile technologies.
On his side, M. Domingo Herrera González, Director from the Department of Organizational Studies, remarked that this project consolidates the work from the own department and supports the institutional indicators, because one of the main intentions is to consolidate the academic bodies and reach another level to contribute to improving the indicator according what the Institutional Development Plan (PLADI) from the University of Guanajuato handles.
