Guanajuato, Gto., December 12, 2014. With the project "Infinite Water", a prototype to treat wastewater from industries, a group of students from the University of Guanajuato (UG) obtained a certification in National Expo-sciences 2015, the most important scientific fair in the country.

"Agua Infinita" (Infinite Water) allows removing a high percentage of organic matter that is present in the industrial wastewater, thanks to the optimization of an electro-coagulation process.

The project was considered the best in the category of natural and exact sciences in National Expo-sciences, reason why they received a certification to participate in the Scientific Fair of the North-Northeast that will be held in Brazil in next year's October.

Axel Ambriz Pérez, Maria Elisa Constantini Báez and Josué Sebastian Salazar Falcón, students from the bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from Campus Guanajuato, created the prototype. Dr. Florina Vilchez Aguado and Dr. Guillermo Mendoza, both researcher-professors from the Division of Sciences and Engineering from Campus Leon tutored the students.

The project "Infinite Water" began in early 2015 and obtained outstanding results in few time. In June, obtained a gold medal in the state encounter of Expo-sciences Guanajuato, that happened in the Bicentennial Park obtaining the accreditation to participate in the contest National Expo-science 2015.

In July 2015, their proposal was taken to "Aldea Digital", the biggest digital inclusion event in the world, in which received excellent comments from the jury and public. In October, the project was presented in the first National Congress of Innovation in the city of Guanajuato competing against postgraduate projects.

National Expo-sciences 2015 occurred in December 7-9 in the city of Tampico, Tamaulipas, maximum event to divulge science in Mexico, where more than 400 projects participated in the preschool, elementary, middle, high and higher levels.
