León, Gto., December 14, 2015.- Students from the seventh semester from the bachelor degree in Social Work from the University of Guanajuato Campus León actively participate with the "Casa de Apoyo a la Mujer A.C." which has the objective to provide professional and comprehensive attention to women and men who have lived or live domestic violence situations besides promoting equity and human rights.

It is important to mention that the link between the civil association and students from the University of Guanajuato has more than three years therefore, the institution represents for students, the opportunity to give new ideas and proposals in pro of society. One of the objectives of collaboration with the association is to divulge the services it offers and explain the alternatives to support users.

The activities the students do with the support house for women has allowed them to know more about the problems the users present when they go the organization, besides visualizing the work they would perform as professional social workers, therefore, the college students considered necessary to integrate to programs and workshops offered by the organization to identify their qualities and benefits and in that way, adequately spread what the user can receive.

M. Carmen de Lourdes López Rocha, General Director from the Support House for Women invited students to join efforts to change behaviors that diminish the violence indexes and modify the environment,

Likewise, M. López Rocha, remarked that there are more than fifteen thousand women who have received support from the association and invited who was there to recruit new volunteers and work together with other institutions, besides to continue the link with the students from the University of Guanajuato who thanked their collaboration.

Finally, the college students highlighted the role the man plays in cases of violence, which has been changing and has passed from being victimizer to victim. "Our work does not end here, we have planned to take the association's work as reference for our thesis project and be part of this change in pro of no-violence", expressed Karla Valeria Hurtado, student from the bachelor degree in Social Work.
