Salamanca, Gto. December 16, 2015.- Students from the University of Santo Tomás from Colombia, who are making a short stay in the University of Guanajuato, visited the Division of Engineering from Campus Irapuato-Salamanca (DICIS) to know the "knowhow" in teaching and research.

Nineteen students from the Bachelor degree in Business Management from such institution are taking a course with the name "Entrepreneurship: option vs challenge for Latin America" taught by professors from the Department of Business Management in Salamanca.

Dr. Ernesto Camarena Aguilar, Rector from Campus Irapuato-Salamanca accompanied by the Director of the Division of Engineering, Dr. Roberto Rojas Laguna and the Director of the Department of Art and Business, Dr. Reynaldo Thompson, received the visitors and made a tour by the classrooms, workshops and laboratories.

The entrepreneurship in which the visitors participate, derives from the negotiations Dr. Gabriel Aviña Cervantes, guest researcher-professor from the Division of Engineering, who has linked UG with Colombian institutions, promoting the youth in that country to study a postgraduate at DICIS.

The course from December 9 to 18 is taught by professors from the program of Business Management from the Division of Engineering has the main objective to schematize the concepts and essential processes that allow generating innovating environments and conceive a business model.

Dr. Mercedes León, Coordinator for the program of Business Management explained that this teaching joins theory with practice, because they also visit companies such as Agrobiotec and technologic parks, seeking that the student be the main constructor of change.

Among other topics, they cover the construction of a business model, the invention, the innovation, types of leadership, until reaching the construction of a technology based business.

Entrepreneurship, explains the coordinator for the program of business management, implies a series of circumstances that are overlooked, these gaps have made Latin America many times stay in the crossline of the most competitive, and innovator environments that seek to correct with a better preparation for potential entrepreneurs.
