Guanajuato, Gto., January 14, 2016.- The University of Guanajuato (UG) collaborates in the activities and in the organization of the 5th edition of the Festival Nacional del Conocimiento (National Festival of Knowledge) to occur in April 20 to 24, 2016 in the city of Leon, Guanajuato.

The General Rector from UG; Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, asserted that this celebration of knowledge breaks barriers and implies the community to socialize.

He added that they will collaborate through the area of university extension from Campus Leon as organizing committee and proposed that the Symphonic Orchestra from the University of Guanajuato be in the opening ceremony.

Dr. Guerrero Agripino expressed that there will be participation with other artistic groups, academic shows and research projects both from academics and students.

Within the diverse forums and enclosures for this festival, spaces from Campus Leon, public plazas, theater "Bicentenario" and Cultural Forum facilities stand out.

It is important to mention that all activities are free and open to the public. This collaboration is part of the general program of the Coordination of Scientific Research from the "Universidad Nacional Autonoma de México (UNAM)".

This festival's objective is to achieve a collaboration that integrates the state, municipal and university authorities such as the University of Guanajuato to divulge that knowledge can weave the human and scientific aspects.

The scientific and artisitic activities will occur in public plazas and the enclosures mentioned above. Up to date, the past four editions from the festival have been done in Ensenada, Baja California, in Queretaro City and in Cuauhtémoc Delegation from Distrito Federal.

On his part, Director from the "Escuela Nacional de Estudios Superiores Unidad León (ENES)" from UNAM, Dr. Javier de la Fuente, was confident that this 5th edition will be just right due to the sum of all efforts from prestigious educative institutions such as UNAM; UG and important centers like "Centro de Investigaciones en Óptica (CIO)", Forum Cultural Guanajuato, the "Instituto Estatal de Cultura" and municipal organisms.

The previous derived from a reunion held by the General Rector from the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino; Rector from Campus Leon, Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez; Director from ENES-UNAM Unit Leon, Dr. Javier de la Fuente Hernandez.

Also present in the meeting were the Mayor from the city of Leon, Héctor López Santillana, Secretary of Education of Guanajuato, Eusebio Vega Pérez, Director from the Cultural Forum Guanajuato, Arturo Joel Padilla Córdova; and the Director from "Centro de Investigaciones en Óptica", Dr. Elder de la Rosa Cruz.
