Guanajuato, Gto., January 25, 2016.- With the purpose to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the restoration of the pipe organ of the San Cayetano temple in Valenciana, Dr. José Luis Lara –scholar at the University of Guanajuato--, once again, he organizes an activity cycle with the name "Musica y Arte en la Valenciana" (Music and Art in Valenciana).

Within the schedule of the cycle, next Thursday, January 28th at 5 o'clock in the afternoon there will be a concert directed by M. José Francisco Martínez, director of the choir of the University of Guanajuato, who will be in charge of interpreting with the pipe organ and the direction of the vocal ensemble.

The enclosure for the event will be the San Cayetano Temple and will be free entrance. The assisting people will be able to hear a concert in two parts, the first will be interpreting plays from authors such as Antonio de Cabezón, G. Frescobaldi J.S. Bach and Cesar Franck in the pipe organ; and in the second part they will present a series of choral plays with a vocal ensemble, such pieces are in a majority of the colonial period.

It is important to mention that the San Cayetano temple –known as Valenciana Temple because of its location—is widely admired and appreciated, mainly for its altarpieces, the facade and the magnificent pipe organ.

Thanks to the mentioned attributes, the temple has become a special place where several artistic events with national and international impact have been carried out, e.g. is one of the enclosures for the "Festival Internacional Cervantino". Likewise, it is an active religious space and therefore is constantly visited by different tourists from all the Mexican republic and foreigners.

It is precise to mention that the concert will be happening thanks to the support from the presbyter Rafael Ramírez, Rector of the San Cayetano Temple.
