Celaya, Gto., January 25, 2016.- Campus Celaya-Salvatierra of the University of Guanajuato (UG), through the Coordination of Encouragement for the Student's Comprehensive Development (CIDIE), offered the traditional welcome party to new entry students and a talk with their parents.

For a week there was information on the services the students are entitled to, the documents and dates where they have to be done, as well as everything related to the administrative and academic part.

There was also information about the academic exchange programs, medical services, languages, social service, safety, scholarships, cultural offer, sports and psychological orientation among other services.

In a talk with the parents, they were invited to take part in the formation of their children, because even then the student takes on more responsibilities as he enters college, the role of the parents must adapt to these changes.

In this stage, children still need their parents as support, that is why they were exhorted to keep in contact with them. Equally, they performed small talk where they explained the interaction in social networks, work load in the school area and other subjects that refer to how the institution functions.

In her intervention, Rector from Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, Dr. Ma. Guadalupe Ojeda Vargas offered a warm welcome to both students and parents, wishing the best for each one of the students in their professional life project.

In addition, she exhorted them to be full time students and not stay only with what the degree, but participate in cultural, sport and academic activities, developing their leadership.

Dr. Ojeda Vargas thanked the parents for the trust given to UG and invited to join the professors and directors from campus to support the students during their formation.

Perla Jiménez, a mother, considered that "is a lot of information and very important, personally I will locate with this information and be aware", she said.

On his behalf, young Victor Alejandro, who will enter the Nutrition degree, manifested that "during these days he was able to know the campus better, the information they gave us was vast, with more confidence I will know how and where to request the services we are entitled to as students".

At the student's welcome, CIDIE's Coordinator and main organizer, Lic. Cecilia Martínez; Director of the Division of Social and Administrative Sciences, Dr. Ricardo Contreras; Director of the Division of Health Sciences and Engineering, M. Ana María Padilla and the Academic Secretary, Dr. Silvia Delgado Sandoval were present.
