León, Gto., January 18, 2015.- Students from the 2011 – 2015 generation from the Nursing and Midwifery degree in Guanajuato Campus Leon from the University of Guanajuato (UG) received their study finishing documents that accredit them as professionals in the field.

The act was held in the University's General Auditorium, in which authorities recognized the effort of thirty-three students that soon will insert in the labor world.

During the event, the placement of mob caps and the "Paso de la luz" ceremony were carried out in honor of the French Nurse Florence Nightingale, to whom is attributed the nursing as a profession. This ritual is also interpreted as the transmission of knowledges from an experienced nurse to new generations.

The Nursing degree was recently accredited by the "Consejo Mexicano para la acreditación de Enfermería A.C. (COMACE)", which recognizes the learning that distinguishes the University of Guanajuato. The official certification ceremony will be held next week.

In his intervention, Rector from UG's Campus Leon, Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez expressed his satisfaction by receiving this certification, that sums great achievements in the teaching and research ambiences. "I invite you graduates to be spokespeople of this great achievement because at the same time you are ambassadors of Nursing and also of UG", he pointed out.

Besides Rector from Campus Leon, in the presidium were Dr. Luxana Reynaga Ornelas, Academic Secretary of Campus Leon; M. Teresa Hernández Ramos, Director of the Department of Nursing and Midwifery in Guanajuato; M. Elvira Moreno Pulido and Dr. Brenda Eugenia Franco Corona, godmothers of the 2011 – 2015 generation.
