León, Gto., January 27, 2015.- Within the activities of the day of the Nutritionist, the Nutrition degree at Campus Leon from the University of Guanajuato (UG) officially received the acknowledgement that accredits them in the Level 1 before the Interinstitutional Committees for the Evaluation of Higher Education (CIEES for its acronym in Spanish) valid until July 2020.

The result of this evaluation shows that the Nutrition degree is an educative program that, judging by the Commission of External Pair Evaluators and the mentioned committees, satisfactorily cover most of the established markers: academic faculty adequate for the program's purposes, plans and updated syllabus and sufficient infrastructure.

The Nutrition degree from Campus Leon was the second to offer in the state of Guanajuato and registers a high demand due to its response capability in pertinence, quality and opportunity.

Likewise, they performed activities previous of handing the acknowledgement with the objective to commemorate within all the university community the Day of the Nutritionist. Thus the reason why two conferences were given under the title "Obesidad y la percepción de los sabores" (Obesity and the perception of flavors) given by M. Erika Martínez Cordero from the HRAEB (Hospital Regional de Alta Especialidad del Bajío) and "Abordaje de problemas de la salud desde la perspectiva de un nutriólogo: Los AGES y diabetes mellitus" (Health problem addressing from the perspective of a nutritionist: The AGES and diabetes mellitus) in charge of Dr. Claudia Luévano Contreras from the Department of Medical Sciences of the University of Guanajuato of Campus Leon.

During the conferences, the students received current information on the topics related to the area of nutrition and witnessed the accreditation acknowledgement hand into the coordination of the program in nutrition.

At the event were present Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez, Rector of Campus Leon, Dr. Luxana Reynaga Ornelas; Campus' Academic Secretary, Dr. Tonatiuh García Campos; Director of the Division of Health Sciences, M. Cipriana Caudillo Cisneros; Division of Health Sciences' Academic Secretary, Dr. Gabriel Cortés Gallo; Director of the Department of Medicine and Nutrition, M. Maria del Pilar Fernández Carrasco; Teaching Coordinator of the Division of Health Sciences and Dr. Luz Elvia Vera Becerra; Coordinator of the Nutrition Degree and a nurtured number of nutrition students.
