profesores-ug-promueven-el-rescate-del-patrimonio-culturalGuanajuato, Gto., January 27, 2016. Convinced that to respect and commit to the care of the cultural heritage it is necessary to know its importance, a group of researchers from the University of Guanajuato (UG) gathered to write "Aproximaciones al patrimonio cultural, Perspectivas Universitarias".

The text represents "an imagination exercise on what we can contribute as an academic body in this area. This imagination is necessary because it allows to create", sustains Dr. Morelos Torres Aguilar, who participates in the book with an analysis on the concept of Cultural Heritage, where he examines how it is constructed and how this idea has transformed through time.

This work constitutes the first editorial product from the academic body "Estudios interdisciplinarios sobre la cultura" (Interdisciplinary groups about culture), composed of professors of the Department of Cultural Studies and Human Studies, Campus Leon. The purpose is to contribute so people may love their cities, and commit to care their environment.

M. Carlota Laura Meneses Sánchez, who writes "Los espacios culturales como determinantes del patrimonio" (Cultural spaces as heritage determinants), thinks about the meaning and transcendence of the cultural spaces in the Mexican society.

The scholar sustains that the sense of pertinence must be cultivated from another perspective, that it implies to appreciate the coexisting spaces, plazas, alleys, so she proposes to see everyday places with the look of a tourist. "They discover things we have before our eyes", she affirms.

The book also has the collaboration of Dr. José de Jesús Cordero Domínguez, with "La tendencia de rescate y usufructo de los inmuebles significativos en el centro histórico de Guanajuato" (The rescue trend and usufruct of the significant estates in the historic downtown of Guanajuato), where he examines the consequences of the re-significance of the heritage estates based in commercial motives, text that constructs a grounded analysis in historical, legal, touristic, political and social data among others.

While Dr. Alejandro Mercado Villalobos writes "La música como necesidad: notas sobre un proyecto en construcción" (Music as a necessity: notes on a project in construction), text where he exposes "the reasons why music turns into a collective necessity", at the same time while thinking of the social function of this art in different historical periods.

With these texts, the authors seek to influence the government, the private imitative and the citizens altogether, to take the time to know their spaces, observe their cities, the streets they use, their traditions, to love them and preserve.

At the end, in words of Dr. Morelos Torres, the concept of cultural heritage "constitutes not only an economic opportunity and a social project, but one of the scarce ways so human beings keep preserving, precisely, their human condition".
