Guanajuato, Gto., January 29, 2016.- Location Belén from Campus Guanajuato of the University of Guanajuato (UG), received the award "Empresa segura" (Safe business) in its second level, from the "Secretaria de Trabajo y Previsión Social".

In representation of the university community and the General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, assisted the Secretary of Management and Development, M. Jorge Romero Hidalgo, who thanked the "Secretaria de Trabajo y Previsión Social", that with that distinction fill the University with pride.

Equally, he highlighted that this award means a commitment to continue working in self-management linked to strengthening the safety and health at work. He mentioned that the General Rector of the University of Guanajuato promotes this kind of actions, putting special care in the matter of safety so the undergraduates can develop in a safe and productive space, generating a better quality of life.

On her behalf, Lic. Aracelí Rodríguez, in representation of Lic. Ángel Arellano Espinoza, Federal Delegate of Work in the state of Guanajuato, spoke about the importance the continuous improvement has in the matter of the optimal development of the workers, who have the right to develop in an adequate space, hence, he congratulated UG for obtaining such achievement and for looking over for the safety and health of their community.

Afterwards, they proceeded to hand the award to the university authorities. In representation of Dr. Javier Corona, Rector from Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Claudia Gutiérrez Padilla, Campus' Academic Secretary, mentioned that it has been a very arduous participation from the students, who constantly collaborate to promote the topic of safety and self-protection.

The previous occurred within the program of Self-management in Safety and Health in the workplace. University authorities received the distinction in a ceremony held in Belén.

At the event were present: Dr. Gilberto Carreño, representing Dr. Luis Enrique Mendoza Puga, Director of the Division of Engineering of the University of Guanajuato; Lic. Gabriela Renata Alarcón Bárcenas, General Coordinator of Administrative Support of Campus Guanajuato of the University of Guanajuato; and the Eng. Leonardo Pérez Saldaña, Chief of Security and Health in the Workplace from the Federal Delegation of Work in Guanajuato.
