León, Gto., February 4, 2016.- University of Guanajuato's Campus Leon will concrete a short term collaboration agreement with the "Secretaría de Seguridad" of the city to take on social impact projects in the areas of: Municipal Police, Municipal Transit, Civil Protection, Direction of Crime prevention, Metropolitan Academy of Public Safety of Leon and the Command Control, Communications and Computing Center (C4).

The main objective of this collaboration is to make a transversal work with the preventive programs this municipal instance has and so, strengthen the participation from the University of Guanajuato within the city of Leon; in addition, directly influence in the members of the "Secretaría de Seguridad" in its formation and training.

The main actions that will begin with Campus Leon, is an approach to the university community, having as actions: Proximity to the community project, advise to the internal security personnel, coordination on the topic of public safety, patrolling and surveillance in the zone, promotion of citizen complaint, coordination of safety binnacles, preservation life and physical integrity of the university community, transit strategy in the zone, talks about transit education, risks when consuming substances before driving, diagnosis on viable conditions in the campus zones and around.

Likewise, they will negotiate spaces for the realization of the undergraduate's social service, talks, workshops and conferences, strategies to prevent school harassment, prevention in public transport, self-care and self-protection culture, citizen networks of participation and school brigades, prevention of administrative flaws and crimes, promotion of a culture of legality, prevention of addictions in the community, as well as the responsible use of citizen networks and the emergency line.

The main collaboration from the University of Guanajuato resides in having the works of academic experts in the subjects of safety, support in research applied in safety, support in anthropological and social studies, training for public functionaries, teaching courses, psychological orientation, advise in the police forming program, support in installation when making events, orientation for the professional development, psychological advise to the personnel of "Secretaria de Seguridad Pública y miembros de comunidades", coordination the matter of social service for the students at the University of Guanajuato and divulgation of researchers in the subject of public safety.

The university authorities that were led by Campus Leon's Rector, Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez, Dr. Luxana Reynaga Ornelas, Campus Leon's Academic Secretary, M. Ildeberto Moreno Uribe; Coordinator of Liaison and prevention; PA Santiago Salmerón González; Chief of Department of Security, Dr. Jessica María Vega Zayas and Dr. Jacobo Herrera Rodríguez, both professors-researchers of the Division of Social Sciences; Lic Maria del Rocío Martínez Pacheco, Coordinator of administrative Quality and Safety of Campus Leon; as well as Lic. Ernesto González; Director of Leon's High School College, institution that will actively participate in this agreement.
