Guanajuato, Gto., February 5, 2016.- "Radio Universidad de Guanajuato (UG)" is a consolidated station, that throughout the years, has generated, made and transmitted every day, Radiophonic products with cultural and college content.

Next Wednesday, February 10th at 6:30pm at UG's General Council Hall, the university community and the public are invited to celebrate the 55th anniversary of "Radio Universidad de Guanajuato" with a commemorative event in which they will hand in recognition awards to all ex-coordinators who have been part of its history.

Equally, Deutsche Welle, the international radio service from Germany, will hand in a recognition to the University of Guanajuato for a 39-year collaboration.

During the commemorative ceremony, the assistants will have the opportunity to enjoy the talent and delicacy of Juan Carlos Laguna, nationally and internationally renowned guitarist, who will please the public with a unique repertoire in which he will homage Takemitsu in his 20-year death anniversary.

It is precise to mention that on February 10; 1961 it was authorized for Radio Universidad to begin transmissions in the 970am frequency. On February 20th in the same year, an important event occurs for the new cultural radio station, the then President of the Mexican Republic, Adolfo López Mateos, inaugurated Radio Universidad de Guanajuato's facilities. To remember those dates, Radio Universidad de Guanajuato will transmit a series of commemorative capsules.

It is important to mention that the next February 10th, Radio UG will have a special live transmission of the ceremony, which will have interviews and reports. On the other hand, the program "Espacio para el oyente", will make an interview with the guitarist Juan Carlos Laguna and also will transmit his concert live.
