Guanajuato, Gto., February 10, 2016.- The Director of the Division of Social Sciences and Human Studies from Campus Guanajuato, Aureliano Ortega Esquivel, started a space for a "global office" of the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies – TUFS), by request from the Japanese college students who since last year, they have a collaboration agreement.

This permanent space for contact propitiates academic exchanges between professors and students and linking activities within both universities, it was negotiated at an initial meeting that the TUFS' committee held past Tuesday with the Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Javier Corona Fernández.

At such meeting with TUFS was present the Executive Director and Vice President of TUFS, Dr. Minoru Iwasaki; Dr. Kuno Ryoichi, professor of Latin American studies and Dr. Nao Namizuka, coordinator of the Symposium project, in addition directors from the Division of Social Sciences and Human Studies (DCSyH).

DCSyH's academic secretary, Carlos Armando Preciado de Alba, explained that the Japanese professors, are interested in establishing a point of contact in a permanent way with presence in the University of Guanajuato with the concept of a global office, whose project is to establish 38 similar offices in the world and, in the case of Mexico, UG is the only contemplated institution.

He made clear that this space is temporary, since they do not need a big infrastructure, but did offer a place where they can identify, and considered that the Japanese area in the Department of Languages, is a good place in a short term.

In this way, the office officially began activities, and the next step is to concrete a particular agreement where they establish timelines, student quantities and supports to be offered.

On his behalf, Dr. Aureliano Ortega celebrated the aperture of the space for the Tokyo colleagues, who had, he said, the initiative and willingness to establish permanent relations with UG through a small global office in Japan, in this case, in the Department of Languages.

It is the initial contact, he explained, with the perspective to extend and create permanent relations not only in the exchange of students and professors, but ideas and initiatives of everything from two very engaged universities with human studies, can offer to their respective countries; in such way that it is a pleasure to offer this provisional space for its diffusion and presence in the University of Guanajuato.
