Guanajuato, Gto., February 10, 2016.- With the purpose to commemorate the 55th anniversary of Radio Universidad de Guanajuato (UG), an event was held in UG's General Council Hall, the place where the trajectory of the station of Radiophonic products with cultural and college content and the most consolidated, was remembered.

In the event were present the ex-coordinators of Radio Universidad de Guanajuato, who throughout the years have constructed the history of the radio station. The General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino accompanied of college authorities and the Municipal President of Guanajuato, Lic. Edgar Castro, was in charge of giving the recognition to all previous coordinators in the name of the university community.

It is important to mention that UG's General Rector conferred a special recognition to the ex-rector of the Maximum House of Studies in the State, M. Eugenio Trueba Olivares, for being the main promoter so today there is a Radio UG, a recognition that was received by her daughter, Bernarda Trueba Uzeta.

Dr. Guerrero Agripino highlighted the work of Radio UG, a mean of communication that has accompanied many generations through their programming. "In this act, we remember a history and recognize a group of college members that 55 years ago found in the radio waves their more eloquent allies to extend their services to society", expressed the General Rector.

Equally, the representative in Mexico from the German Station Deutsche Welle, Manuel Méndez, thanked Radio UG for the collaboration links that have been kept for 40 years, hence, he gave a recognition to the radio station of the educative institution, which was received by Dr. Guerrero Agripino.

On his behalf, the Municipal President of Guanajuato, remarked the social commitment that characterizes Radio UG, radio station linked to freedom and the construction of better citizens through knowledge.

Likewise, the General Coordinator of the System of TV, Radio and Hypermedia of UG, M. Ricardo García, highlighted the work from all the personnel at Radio UG that is now part of their history, since they sacrificed a great part of their existence to an outstanding labor.

To celebrate the 55th anniversary, the internationally renowned guitar player, Juan Carlos Laguna, pleased the assistants with a concert where he made an homage to the Japanese composer Takemitsu at his 20 years of his death.

The singularity and technic & interpretative quality of the musician, captivated the assistants who dismissed the guitarist with an exhaustive applause.

In the event were present: UG's Academic Secretary, Dr. José Luis Lucio Martínez; Pro Vost, Héctor Efraín Rodríguez de la Rosa; Rector of Campus Guanajuato, Javier Corona; Rector from Campus Celaya-Salvatierra, Dr. Ma. Guadalupe Ojeda Vargas; Rector from Campus Leon, Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez; ASTAUG's general Secretary, Eng. Víctor Jiménez; Director of UG's Cultural Extension, Sara Julsrud; Director of the High School College, M. Martha Oliva Gallaga Ortega; the Director of the "Instituto Estatal de la Cultura", Dr. Juan Alcocer, as well as the Director of Radio and Television of Guanajuato, M. Juan Aguilera.
