Guanajuato, Gto., February 11, 2016.- The Symphonic Orchestra from the University of Guanajuato (OSUG), continues with its first concert season, this time they will present the program named "Melodia genial" (Great melody) on Thursday Febraury 11th in the "Teatro Bicentenario" in the city of Leon at 20:30 hours and Friday 12 in the "Teatro Principal" in Guanajuato at the same hour.

OSUG's musicians will be accompanied by the guest director, Michal Fine and the solo from the clarinet player Romie de Guise-Langlois, who will interpret a nurtured and diverse program that comprehends renowned composers from France, Austria and Germany.

At first, the orchestra will play "Ma Mère l'Oye" of Maurice Ravel, play that is composed by five children pieces and inspired in different French fairy tales from the XVII and XVIII centuries.

Ma Mère l'Oye is considered a good example of the constructive meticulousness from Ravel; of delicacy and sensitivity, expresses in long and fluid melodies, full of rich modulations and colorful tones, articulated from a great orchestral refinement, in its essence you can hear the naturalness and the simplicity of the music.

The second play the listeners will enjoy is the "Concert for Clarinet in A major, K. 622" of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The concert was composed in Vienna in 1791 for the clarinet player Anton Sandler, great friend and fellow of the masons. The play divides into three movements: Allegro, Adagio and Rondo; the orchestra that accompanies the soloist is composed by two flutes, two bassoons, two tubes and the string.

To finalize, OSUG will please the public by playing the "Symphony No. 4 in A major, Op. 90 Italian" of Felix Mendelssohn, same that was premiered with huge success on May 13th 1833 in the Philharmonic Society of London and is structured in four movements.

The spirit of the "Symphony No. 4 in A major, Op. 90 Italian" of Felix Mendelssohn is provided by words, that in an impression, were written by the composer in a letter to Carl Friedrich Zelter from Rome: "I am enjoying of the most wonderful combination of fun and demureness, just as you can find in Italy".

It is important to mention, that the guest director, Michael Fine, won the Grammy for Classical Producer in 1992, it is widely known as one of the main producers of classical recordings in the world. Besides the recordings, Fine is active in the artistic planning in the Philharmonic Orchestra of Radio Francia, where he currently works as intern Artistic Director and in Seoul's Philharmonic.

On her behalf, the guest soloist, Romie de Guise-Langlois is considered "extraordinaire" and "formidable clarinetist" by the "New York Times", has been a soloist with Houston's Philharmonic, ACJW Ensemble, Burlington Chamber Orchestra and in Music @ Menlo and Banff Centre for the Arts.
