
Guanajuato, Gto., February 12, 2016. In a work meeting, federal lawmakers from the state of Guanajuato offered the university authorities their support to negotiate resources that allow concreting projects of high priority for the maximum house of studies.
In the encounter, the General Rector from the University of Guanajuato (UG), Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, expressed to the deputies the actual state of the university, their priorities, strategic themes, infrastructure projects, investment and equipment projects.
This reunion allowed to "hear the perspective that they –the deputies—have of UG from their position, as well as to visualize opportunity areas", expressed the General Rector.
At the higher level, campus' rectors planned the necessity to negotiate funds to conclude the Laboratory Tower in Leon, improve the road infrastructure in Marfil, build a multi-sport place in Campus Celaya-Salvatierra and support the creation of a National Laboratory of Analysis and Monitoring of Water for Human Consumption among other works.
On her behalf, the Director of the High School College, QFB. Martha Oliva Gallaga Ortega, considered that some of the most urgent necessities refer to space extension to address students in places like Moroleon, Leon and Irapuato.
In the meeting, both university authorities as federal deputies highlighted the relevance to support proposals that ease access to higher education to low-income students, such as the scholarship program and regional equity.
It was also considered fundamental to work in interior and exterior safety on campuses and high schools; through preventive programs and joining efforts with the municipal governments.
"It was a really fruitful meeting, in which we listened ideas, observations on how UG could greater social impact and as for the joint commitments to contribute among all to search resources for strategic projects", as pointed by the General Rector in the meeting.
In the work session, also from UG, participated: Rector from Campus Guanajuato, Dr. Javier Corona Fernández; from Campus Leon, Dr. Carlos Hidalgo Valadez; Campus Celaya-Salvatierra' Rector, Dr. Ma. Guadalupe Ojeda Vargas; from Campus Irapuato-Salamanca, Dr. Ernesto Camarena Aguilar; UG's Secretary of Management and Development, M. Jorge Alberto Romero Hidalgo and the Director of Infrastructure and University Services, M. Eloy Juárez Sandoval, among other functionaries from the house of studies.
From the political party (PAN) were present Miguel Salim Alle, Ricardo Sheffield García, René Mandujano Tinajero, Adriana Elizarraraz Sandoval, José Erandi Bermúdez Méndez and Lorena Alfaro García. As well as deputies from PRI, Ricardo Ramírez Nieto, Yulma Rocha Aguilar, Érika Arroyo Bello and Timoteo Villa Ramírez.
