Guanajuato, Gto., February 16, 2016. With the purpose to know the challenges and priority projects of the University of Guanajuato (UG), authorities from the House of Studies led by the General Rector, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, they gathered with deputies of the state of Guanajuato, who offered support to negotiate resources that allow to consolidate the institution's development.
At the work session, Dr. Guerrero Agripino sustained that he conceives UG as a "state project" therefore, the budget exercise is oriented to strengthen the competitiveness, quality, internationalization and research and innovation in the House of Studies.
The deputies knew the strategic programs and work sites from Campuses Guanajuato, Leon, Irapuato-Salamanca and Celaya-Salvatierra; as well as the High School College, where infrastructure projects stand out, support for students in adverse situations and resources for safety.
UG's sustenance is the public resources and for that there must be a permanent negotiation process, not only when budget times are near, said the General Rector. "Throughout the year we have to plan which are the institution's necessities, its commitments", but the reunion is also to hear the perspective of the legislators, "which has been very resourceful", he added.
On their behalf, legislators showed interest in knowing the academic offering from UG, the link with productive sectors and the proposals that can be worked together such as safety and regional development.
Likewise, the reaffirmed their support to negotiate the funds required for the House of Studies, because supporting UG is supporting Guanajuato, confirmed the President of the board of the LXIII State of Guanajuato Congress Legislation, Maria Guadalupe Velázquez Díaz.
At the gathering were present, from UG, Pro Vost, Dr. Héctor Efrain Rodríguez de la Rosa; UG's Secretary of Management and Development, M. Jorge Alberto Romero Hidalgo and the Director of Infrastructure and University Services, M. Eloy Juárez Sandoval.
Guadalupe Ojeda Vargas; from Campus Irapuato-Salamanca; Dr. Ernesto Camarena Aguilar; and the Director of the High School College, Q.F.B. Martha Oliva Gallaga Ortega, among other university functionaries.
Also participated, from the PRI party, deputies Jorge Eduardo de la Cruz Nieto, Arcelia González González and Irma Leticia González Sánchez; legislators from PAN, Luis Vargas Gutierrez, Juan José Álvarez Brunel, Libia Dennise García Muñoz Ledo, Leticia Villegas Nava and Araceli Medina Sanchéz.
