Guanajuato, Gto., February 17, 2016.- With the presence of 14 students who represent 236 athletes who participate in the events organized by the "Consejo del Deporte de la Educación CONADE A.C." through the course of the year, authorities of the University of Guanajuato (UG) handed the University's pennant.

In representation of their fellows, the member of the UG's Baseball selection, the student Luis Fernando Aguilera Serna highlighted that his formation resides in sports, because in it, they find a common space of understanding and a motivational element that encourages them to the foundation of a proactive society.

Likewise, he mentioned that sports lead them to search new challenges, and thanked the University for their support and trust. He also assured that they will take with full responsibility this pennant to raise the name of UG.

On his behalf, representing the General Rector of the University of Guanajuato, Dr. Luis Felipe Guerrero Agripino, UG's Pro Vost, Dr. Héctor Efraín Rodríguez de la Rosa handed a letter signed by the General Rector in which he exhorts the students to contribute in the construction of a better society and recognized their commitment to practice sports.

UG's Pro Vost reiterated the institution's responsibility for the comprehensive formation of the students and congratulated them for being part of the new generation that will proudly represent this House of Studies.

At the event, were also present the Academic Secretary, Dr. José Luis Lucio Martínez; the Secretary of Management and Development, M. Jorge Romero Hidalgo; and the Director of Student Development, M. José Osvaldo Chávez Rodríguez.
