León, Gto., February 17, 2016.- As part of the program of activities of the Student Council of Medical External Relationships of the University of Guanajuato (CEREMUG) and the group SCOME (Standing Committee on Medical Education) there was a conference aimed for med students of the educational program of Medical Surgeons about Zika.

Med students knew the symptoms and signs the carriers present and the similarity there is with other diseases such as dengue and chikungunya, diseases that are also transmitted by other mosquito species.

The act occurred at the auditorium of the Department of Medicine and Nutrition of Campus Leon, in which the renowned infectologist, Dr. Juan Luis Mosqueda Gómez was in charge of addressing the team making a retrospective analysis to know the origins and the causes that propitiated that the disease reached the American continent coming from Africa.

Dr. Juan Luis Mosqueda spoke about the disease transmitter mosquito (aedes aegypti) and provided recommendation to avoid its reproduction, among them is o not accumulate water in pots, tires, ceilings, and clean yards and roofs.

Dr. Mosqueda presented the context in which different institutions such as WHO (World Health Organization) have intervened to reduce the possible outbreaks in Latin American countries, specifically in Brazil, which is the country where there is a greater number of Zika cases and where the first cases in America presented.

He stressed to the students that the responsibility of health professionals not only in hospitals but "they have to be responsible as a population and take measures in homes to diminish the conditions that make possible the reproduction for the transmitter mosquito", he pointed.
