Guanajuato, Gto., February 22, 2016.- This Monday the summon for all undergraduate and high school students will be published. For those interested in participating in the "First UN Model for the state of Guanajuato GMUN2016", to be developed in April 28 to 30 in the Magnus spaces of the Division of Economic-Administrative Sciences of Campus Guanajuato.
This student initiative, supported by the University of Guanajuato's authorities, has its background in similar encounters in other states in the country, especially in the private sector; however, it will be developed for the first time in Guanajuato with the purpose to propitiate the internationalization of the student in Guanajuato.
Karina del Carmen Reyes Muñoz, who courses the second semester of the Industrial Relationships degree; Alan Rafael Velázquez García of the second semester of the Civil Engineering degree and Karla Yadira Romero Sandoval of the eighth semester of the Education degree are part of the organizing committee of the first UN model for the state of Guanajuato, which is a replica of the work and activities that develop at UN, with dialogue and debates through several committees.
In this model, they explained, there are seven committees; the General Assembly, the Security Council, the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), the Organization of American States (OEA), World's Health Organization (WHO), the Commission of Disarm and International Security (DISEC) and the Committee of Human Rights.
Within each table, the subscribed youth who respond the call, will function as delegates and will be informed of the themes, according to the information that GMUN2016 divulges through their website where they uploading manuals for who is interested make consultations with the objective to have a base of their participation.
The organizing committee is formed by students from different universities and they seek a synergy to lead a UN model where the youth in the state can access freely, represent a country, learn their culture and found in dialogue and debate, the form to express their ideas and propose solutions, same that could reach the instances that can be considered.
The students sustained that the model is supported by the United Nations Research Center, who verifies the pertinence of the proposals and even, if considered, can make them reach international organs for their possible application, so the voice of the youth in Guanajuato can sum to the solution of ancient world problems.
Each one of the tables will have 25 delegates, a president, a moderator, a conference officer, besides they will accept observers and there will be an opening and closing ceremonies, with the presentation of conclusions.
In their organization, the students have the support of the Institute of youth of the State of Guanajuato, the Institute of youth in Irapuato, "Educafin" and, of course, the University of Guanajuato, enclosure of the encounter.
Students and graduates are the members of the Organizing Committee, and they come from these institutions: Universidad La Salle Bajío; Colegio de La Salle Panorama León; Universidad de León, Instituto Lux; Instituto Kipling, Universidad Iberoamericana de León; ITESM Campus Irapuato; Instituto Tecnológico Superior de Irapuato and the University of Guanajuato.
